Allen High School football ended an 84-game winning streak

Allen High School opened the $ 60 million Allen Eagle Stadium in 2012 and went on to have an 84-game regular-season winning streak. They looked unstoppable and anyone could guess when the streak would finally end.

But as they say, all good things must come to an end.

Under the guidance of head coach Chad Morris, who was hired this offseason, Allen started the 2021 season with an impressive 56-30 win at Plano East again. However, their fortunes slowed down on Friday night.

The Atascocita Eagles came to town and refused to be intimidated. They brought it to Allen on the opening whistle and refused to let go, eventually coming away with a 41-20 victory. It was an upheaval of epic proportions.

“This is what everyone is talking about. As long as you play a game there, there will probably be a game lost on the field, ”Morris said, via Dallas News. “We had an incredible streak. Am I reading too much? Look, I hate every game that we lose, no matter what the streak.

Morris, who coached at SMU, Arkansas and Auburn (assistant) before joining Allen, dismissed the importance of loss, telling his players how they react to adversity is all that matters.

“The legacy of this team will be made by how we respond to this,” Morris said as the players left the field. “Only we can fight. We have a lot of football left.

Allen will be on the road for the next two weeks, taking on Tyler Legacy and Boyd, before returning home on October 8 for a game against Little Elm.
