Bronc Football ready to open 2021 season / American Legion Baseball Regional Opens in Gillette Today / Rockies Whip the Cubs – Sheridan Media



SHERIDAN BRONC FOOTBALL – The start of the 2021 high school fall sports season is Monday the first day of football training for 4-A schools.

The Bronc coaches and seniors leave for their mountain camp tomorrow and end the week with their player / parent meeting on Sunday afternoon,

Head coach Jeff Mowry says the camp is kicking off the senior leadership process for this year’s Bronc team.

Monday morning when the players take to the pitch there will be several players in new positions and a few coaches will take on new roles as well and Jeff says they all need to be on the same page at the start of the week.

The Broncs open the 2021 season on August 27 in Laramie.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL – The American Legion Northwest Regional Baseball Tournament kicks off today in Gillette.

There are four games today Yakima, Washington plays the Billings Royals at 9:30 am, then Idaho Falls plays Helena, MT at 11:30 am. .

ROCKIES BASEBALL – The Rockies routed the Cubs, 13-6 as Elías Díaz struck a grand slam and Kyle Freeland claimed his first victory in over a month. Freeland allowed two runs in five innings before being pulled out with a contusion to his left foot.

Sam Hilliard also scored and CJ Cron had three hits and three RBIs for Colorado.

FOOTBALL BRONCO – The Denver Broncos play their first preseason game on August 14 in Minnesota.
