Fantastic impact: Mets manager Buck Showalter said the Mets pushed Scherzer away just to give him an extra day to be safe. Barring any setbacks, he looks to be on track to be able to make his comeback potentially next week.

Fantastic impact: Haniger is in IL 60 days with a sprained ankle and has been out since April 30, but is progressing steadily. He is expected to be able to return around the All-Star break, and Tuesday’s swings are a step in the right direction. There’s still plenty of time for setbacks, but for now, expect Haniger to continue his rehab and enter the games shortly.
