Frey de Rosepine signs with LSU baseball

ROSEPINE, Louisiana (KALB) – Rosepine star athlete Ethan Frey officially signed on Saturday to continue his baseball career at LSU.

Frey put pen to paper in front of his friends, family, teammates and many more in the Rosepine community. The Rosepine product has been committed to the Tigers since its second year.

Over the past few months, Frey has dominated the football field as a quarterback, but it is in baseball that his talents really shine. He helped the Eagles win their first baseball state title earlier this year and is looking to do the same in his senior season.

Frey said it was special to play in a prestigious program near his home.

“I’ve been looking forward to this since I signed up,” Frey said. “It feels good to know that my community supports me and so does my team. They’ve been around since I was in first year, and I know they’ll continue to support me after I graduate.

Frey will join a brand new coaching team at LSU under the leadership of first-year head coach Jay Johnson. He said he was ready to travel to Baton Rouge to play The Box.

“There are no fans like the ones at Alex Box,” Frey said. “Their fans are so loyal and are the best in the country. That’s what makes LSU so good is that they have the best fans.

Frey could also hear his name called on draft night for the 2022 MLB Draft.
