It’s no secret that Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin isn’t exactly the Tennessee Volunteers’ biggest fan. So when the No. 1 Vols baseball team was eliminated from the NCAA Super Regional Tournament today, he decided to have a little fun.

Taking to Twitter, Kiffin decided to troll a Tennessee fan who made fun of him over the weekend. On Saturday, a Vols fan accused Kiffin of “always wishing he was a Vol.”

“Poor little lane still wishing he was a Vol. Talking about how your son Knox is doing,” the fan wrote.

Unfortunately for this fan from Tennessee, his tweet has aged like milk. Kiffin got the last laugh today because not only were the #1 ranked Vols eliminated from the Super Regional, but the Ole Miss baseball team crushed Southern Miss to reach the College World Series.

Kiffin’s response was blunt:

“Awesome thanks for asking!! We’re watching @OleMissBSB move towards the @CWSMaha!! What are you guys today in Knoxville??”

And the fans really loved it:

Lane Kiffin’s tenure as head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers was brief, but eventful.

He left school after just one season to become the head coach of USC – leaving the Vols without the coach they had tried to succeed the great Phillip Fulmer.

As you’d expect, fans of Vols didn’t get off to a good start. Even nearly 15 years later, many are still angry at the betrayal.

But Lane Kiffin had the last laugh today.
