Whitecaps leading scorer Curtis re-signs with Premier Hockey Federation team


The Whitecaps have re-signed as a striker Jonna Curtis, their points leader this season, to a one-year contract for the 2022-23 campaign. Curtis, an Elk River High School and New Hampshire alum, had nine goals and 15 assists in 20 games for the Whitecaps in 2021-22, plus three playoff assists.

She is a three-time Premier Hockey Federation All-Star.

The PHF has granted free agency to all current and incoming players, and the Whitecaps have signed five players so far. The others are attackers Ashleigh Brykaliuk and Sydney Brodtand the defenders Sidney Morin and Sydney Baldwin.


Pepperdine and Hitchner lose in NCAA

Pepperdine, defending NCAA champion, with Derek Hitchnera Blake senior in the Waves roster, lost 4-1 to Arizona State in the NCAA men’s golf match-play semifinals in Scottsdale, Arizona. Hitchner lost matches 2 and 1 against Cameron Sisk solar devils.

Gustavus first baseman Jack Hansson was named Player of the Year and Carleton’s Lord Kiefer pitcher of the year in NCAA Division III baseball Region IX.
